SigNature™ DNA Authentication

There are 3 levels of DNA Authentication:

Level 1: Marker Detection Using non-DNA based Mechanisms: A one-second test is easily performed using an instant-detection pen. The DNA-marked element on the label, package or object is wiped with the instant detection pen. If the botanical SigNature™ DNA-embedded ink is present, a reversible color change, will occur. If a color change does not occur, counterfeiting would be suspected, triggering the need for further validation through forensic authentication. The addition of optical reporter markers to DNA offers another means to quickly screen for the presence of a DNA marker. DNA is covalently linked to these optical reporter markers and the DNA can then be detected using a commercially available hand-held device.

Level 2: Portable DNA Analyzer: A second and more elaborate test identifies the presence of specific DNA markers using a hand held PCR device. This test offers quick end point analysis, enabling non-technical users with minimal training to operate the system with confidence. This test takes approximately twenty minutes to complete.

Level 3: Forensic DNA Authentication: A third and more elaborate test using DNA analysis can determine the exact identity of the encrypted SigNature™ DNA. This provides 100% forensic identity of the DNA, and absolute product authentication.
