What We Do
Applied DNA has signed an agreement with RedWeb Technologies, giving the company exclusive rights in North America to distribute the Sentry 500 Intruder Spray Systems embedded with SigNature DNA. This system is already being used in Sweden with great success.
How it works: Multiple spray heads can be fitted at the entry points of premises and on activation emit a burst of DNA solution onto the offenders. The solution contains a rapid-read tracer and a unique DNA code, linking the criminals irrefutably to the crime scene. The DNA Spray can be armed by a panic button and/or linked to an existing intruder alarm system. As the DNA fear factor amongst criminals is high, it is likely that sprayed intruders will flee the crime scene before stealing any goods.
The deterrent value of DNA: Premises protected with SmartDNA immediately become hardened targets as criminals are wary of DNA technology - they know that DNA links them to crimes they commit. The DNA Spray can be used by retail outlets, schools, jewelers, gas stations, even major International banks, to protect their valuable stock and assets.
Long lasting and safe: Traces of the DNA solution can be taken from the skin, hair and clothing of offenders, and sent to APDN for forensic analysis to prove that the offender has broken into a particular premises. Although invisible and harmless, the SmartDNA marker will remain on an offender for weeks - clinging to fibers and sitting in creases of the skin.
RedWeb's solutions are proven to deter criminals and reduce crime, as well as to aid the police in identifying and catching criminals. We work with the police, commercial organisations (such as retailers, banks, fleet operators and utilities companies, for example) and security personnel.
